PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount oscillator for preventing a vibration frequency, after the oscillator is dropped and subjected to a shock, from being changed. SOLUTION: The surface mount crystal oscillator comprising: a crystal chip with both principal faces of which an exciting electrode is provided and wherein a pair of lead electrodes are extended from the exciting electrode to an outer circumferential part; and a package main body with an inner bottom face of which a pair of crystal terminals electrically and mechanically connected to the lead electrodes of the crystal chip are provided, is configured such that a conduction electrode juxtaposed with the exciting electrode of the crystal chip is formed on the inner bottom face of the package main body and the exciting electrode of the crystal chip at the inner bottom face of the package main body is electrically connected to the conduction electrode. The conduction electrode is divided into a plurality of divisions, which are connected in common. The lead electrodes are extended at both sides of one end of the crystal chip. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
