PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a high-purity acrylamidealkanesulfonic acid having excellent polymerizability by simple equipment/process/operation. SOLUTION: The method for producing the acrylamidealkanesulfonic acid comprises bringing a solution of a crude acrylamidealkanesulfonic acid or its salt into contact with an anion exchange resin. Concretely, the solution of the salt is a solution of the salt of an acrylamidealkanesulfonic acid obtained by subjecting acrylonitrile, sulfuric acid and an olefin to addition reaction, more concretely a solution of a 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid salt.
