PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the space efficiency and workability in a wheel set disassembling facility which separates a wheel from an axle of a wheel set used in a carriage for railroad vehicle. SOLUTION: The facility is equipped with a fixed type wheel set separation device 40 which is installed on the floor surface of one side, via a moving line 30 of the air movement-type axle conveying device, hung from an elevated type guide rail 20, and a wheel carrying-out line 50 which is installed on the floor surface on the opposite side of a wheel separation device 40 via the moving line of the axle conveying device 30 across the moving line, and directly connected to the wheel separation device 40. The axle conveying device 30 clamps the axle 11 of the wheel set 10 with a lifting type chuck 36 and horizontally supports it in the air, and conveys toward the horizontal direction right to the axle 11. The fixed type wheel separation device 40 has clamp arms 42, 42 clamping the wheel 12, and a press cylinder 41 relatively moving the wheel 12 toward the axle direction, and these separates the wheel 12 from the axle 11.
