PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel radial tire having a bead core with a polygon shape having five or more corners in section and that can prevent fretting due to contact between the corners of the bead core and a ply without generating a separation because of a failure in uniformity and a concentration of distortions. SOLUTION: In this steel radial tire including a pair of bead cores 1 and a ply 2 crossed over the bead cores 1 with both end portions wound over for covering the cores 1, the section of each of the cores 1 having a polygon shape with five or more corders, and an organic fiber cord layer 3 interposed between each of the cores 1 and the ply 2, the cord layer 3 is placed on a circumference of the cores 1 so that an organic fiber cord 4 does not cross a ply cord at an angle other than 90°and is not stacked on the ply cord.
