PURPOSE: A non-contact inert type road roughness measurement system is provided to rapidly measure road roughness, to analyze a road status and to calculate a road profile for a vehicle travel simulation. CONSTITUTION: A non-contact inert type road roughness measurement system includes an optical distance measurement sensor(7), an acceleration sensor(8) and an optical speed sensor(9), which are installed in a vehicle(5). The acceleration sensor(8) is aligned just on the optical distance measurement sensor(7). A road profile is calculated by means of predetermined computer system based on measurement signals obtained by the optical distance measurement sensor(7), the acceleration sensor(8) and the optical speed sensor(9). The optical speed sensor(9) is attached in the middle a supporter(10).
