PURPOSE: An engine output torque control method of an automatic transmission is provided to prevent shift shock generated at the last stage in shifting by learning the end point of an engine output reduction demand signal in accordance with an engine characteristic and changing the end point of engine output torque, in shifting. CONSTITUTION: An engine output torque control method of an automatic transmission comprises steps of deciding the shifting state according to driver's traveling intention and executing the appropriate shift control(S100¯S115); deciding the normal reaching state of the end point of the engine output torque(S120¯S135); deciding the finishing state of shift synchronization(S140); deciding whether the end point of the engine output torque is suitable or not(S145,S150); learning the end point of the engine output torque; and finishing shift control.
