<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform shutdown control without stopping the output of optical signals of a channel during an operation in the case of providing another transponder in addition to an existing transponder in an optical wavelength division multiplex transmission system. <P>SOLUTION: The transponders 30A-30N are provided with input interruption detection parts 31A-31N which transmit input interruption signals to a shutdown control part 6 when there is no input of the optical signals. In receiving reflected light detection signals 5a from a reflected light detection part 5 and also receiving the input interruption signals 33a-33n from the input interruption detection means 31A-31N of all the transponders, the shutdown control part 6 performs the shutdown control of stopping optical output of a light amplification part 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
