<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved injection apparatus wherein a needle is not used. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus includes an initiator valve chamber 144 which controls a flow of a compressed gas into a reservoir 168. A poppet valve 170 connected to the reservoir has a tip which controls the gas pressure so that the flow led from the initiator valve to the reservoir is controlled. A clamping piston 210 is driven forward by the gas pressure from the reservoir and by this clamping piston, a jaw section 236 is pressed on a plunger 362 extending in an ampule 360. When the pressure from the reservoir reaches the cracking pressure of the poppet valve, the poppet valve opens. The gas from the reservoir is led to a driving chamber through the poppet valve and a driving piston 212 which includes the clamping piston and the jaw section moves forward so that the plunger can slide into the ampule. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
