<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely restrict generation of shock in the case where the accelerator is stepped on again, after downshifting with an accelerator off in a speed change control device for an automatic transmission for a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In this speed change control device for an automatic transmission for a vehicle, a low speed side friction engagement element is engaged after release of engagement of a high speed side friction engagement element for downshifting. When stepping the accelerator is detected after start of release (SS) of the high speed side friction engagement element and before start of engagement (SB') of the low speed side friction engagement element when downshifting is executed with the accelerator off, change-over to a low speed side gear shift is prohibited, and a high speed side gear shift is held. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
