PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a change gear ratio control system for a continuously variable transmission for restricting overchute when controlling variable speed. SOLUTION: This variable speed control system for continuously variable transmission is provided with a target change gear ratio computing means B33 for computing a model response change gear ratio when real change gear ratio follows a target on the basis of an achievable change gear ratio and a time constant expressing the predetermined dynamic characteristic, a target change gear ratio switching means B34 for correcting the model response change gear ratio on the basis of a deviation between the change gear ratio based on a displacement of an actuator of a variable speed control mechanism of the continuously variable transmission and the model response change gear ratio, a change gear ratio command value correction rate computing means B34a for computing a correction rate of the change gear ratio command value on the basis of a deviation between the corrected model response change gear ratio computed by the target change gear ratio switching means and the real change gear ratio, a change gear ratio command value correcting means B35 for correcting the change gear ratio command value on the basis of the correction rate, and an actuator drive control means B4 for controlling drive of the actuator on the basis of the change gear ratio command value after the correction.
