PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element allowing emitted light to be efficiently extracted to the outside. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element is formed by forming organic luminescent layers 3 between two electrodes 1 and 2, and has luminescent parts 4 for making the organic luminescent layers 3 emit light by applying a voltage between both the electrodes 1 and 2. Light extraction parts 5 for extracting light emitted by the luminescent parts 4 are formed on the opposite side of the luminescent layers 3 of the transparently formed electrode 1 out of the two electrodes 1 and 2. The circumference of each extraction part 5 is surrounded by a light reflecting surface 6 formed into a tapered tubular shape of which the inside diameter is reduced toward the luminescent layer 3 and increased toward the opposite side thereof, and the extraction part 5 is disposed by facing it to the luminescent part 4.
