PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE WITH IMAGING FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently assure the quantity of transmitted light of a panel while maintaining eye contact by using a PDP (plasma display panel) formed with barrier ribs by a light transparent material and by arranging an imaging element behind the PDP. SOLUTION: The plasma display device is configured of the PDP which is formed with a number of pixels internally having electrodes and in which portions of the respective pixels are light transparent and light can be transmitted linearly from a display surface side to a back side through the light transparent portions and a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) camera arranged in a position where the light transmitted from the display surface side to the back surface side of the PDP can be received. An object existing on the display surface side of the PDP is imaged through the PDP by the CCD camera. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
