PURPOSE: An air conditioner using the freezing of condensed water is provided to reduce the energy consumption by discharging chilled air by freezing condensed water instead of circulating cooling water. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner using the freezing of condensed water includes a compressor(32), a condenser(34), expansion valves(36,38), heat exchangers(16,18) and a fan(6). The heat exchangers have first and second pipes(43,44) at upper and lower parts inside. The expansion valves are respectively connected to the first and second pipes and have different refrigerant introducing capacities from each other. The refrigerant is introduced to the first pipe as much as to freeze the condensed water in a water tray, and to the second pipe not much for keeping the liquid state of the condensed water in a water tray. The fan is provided at a side of the heat exchangers to discharge chilled air generated by the heat exchangers or by the frozen condensed-water. A control part(42) controls the operate one of the expansion valve and turns off the operation of the compressor when the condensed water was frozen. |
