PURPOSE: Provided is a gear oil composition, which maintains adequate dynamic and static friction coefficients necessary for synchronizing transmission and improves extreme pressure resistance necessary for a final reduction gear. CONSTITUTION: The gear oil composition for use both in a transmission and a final reduction gear comprises: 60-90 wt% of a base oil; 0.5-2 wt% of phosphite sulfoxide which is an additive for improving heat resistance and anti-corrosive property; 0.5-3 wt% of zinc dithiophosphate and 0.1-2 wt% of borate ester, as a friction controller; and 0.5-2 wt% of calcium sulfonate as a dispersant. The composition may further comprise an anti-oxidant, a defoaming agent and a viscosity index improver.
