PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power controller which can simplify the constitution of a power circuit where a switching regulator and a series regulator are connected in series without dropping the protective function against overvoltage and an overcurrent, and besides can improve conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: A switching control circuit 14 constitutes a switching regulator together with an FET 4 and a smoothing circuit 5, and a series control circuit 15 constitutes a series regulator together with a transistor 7. These circuits 14, 15 perform the protective actions such as switching off the FET 4 or the transistor 7, and detecting the overcurrent, the overvoltage, etc., based on the detection results of a current detecting circuit 12 which detects the voltage across a resistor 6 for current detection inserted between the smoothing circuit 5 and the transistor 7, the potential-divided value of the output voltage of the smoothing circuit 5 that a potential dividing circuit 11 generates, and the detection results of a temperature detecting circuit 8 which detects the temperature of the FET 4.
