PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus wherein a load imposed on setting operations for complicated read conditions is relieved. SOLUTION: A storage section 15 stores read conditions and a memory box 17 in use when a read section 11 reads an image on an original as a one-touch table 16 in cross-reference with a one-touch key 13 provided to an operation section 12. When the one touch key 13 of the operation section 12 is operated, a control section 14 references the one-touch table 16 in the storage section 15 and allows the read section 11 to read the image on the original according to the registered read conditions. Then similarly the control section 14 selects the memory box 17 in use from the one-touch table 16 and stores the image on the original read by the read section 11 to the memory box 17. A user enables the read section to read the image with a simple operation, which is an operation of the one-touch key 13 without the need for the user to set complicated read conditions on each reading.
