PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CCD imaging unit by correcting the gain characteristic of a gain amplifier of each channel in a horizontal transfer section for performing serial transfer of a multichannel so as to suppress dispersion among the channels and restrict the effect due to a change in an external environment such as a temperature. SOLUTION: The imaging unit has an imaging section 10 comprising a plurality of light receiving elements for storing signal electric charges in accordance with an incident luminous quantity arranged in the form of a matrix, and the imaging section 10 transfers the signal electric charges stored by the light receiving elements in a vertical direction and outputs the electric charges to a horizontal transfer section 20. The horizontal transfer section 20 has at least two channels, each channel transfers the signal electric charges to the gain amplifier of each channel, the gain amplifier outputs a signal in accordance with the signal electric charges, a correction circuit provided to each channel corrects an offset and gain dispersion of the gain amplifiers between the channels on the basis of a white reference signal and a black reference signal included in the output signal of the gain amplifiers, and an image signal with nearly the same gain characteristic can be obtained.
