PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing an optical fiber and a fixing pipe in an optical element module, which make it possible to downsize the optical element module and increase an work efficiency concerning solder-fixing when assembled and manufactured, moreover, to prevent deterioration of the coated part of the optical fiber. SOLUTION: The method for fixing an optical fiber in the optical element module with a built-in optical element 1, characterized by forming a groove 41 for soldering coppers on the fixing pipe 21 capable of inserting the optical fiber 6 therein and fixing it by soldering at the middle part in the direction of insertion, making the optical fiber stay in the fixing pipe so that the stripped part of the optical fiber is positioned at least at the middle part and the coated part thereof is positioned on the opposite side of the case from the middle part, and fixing the optical fiber to the fixing pipe by soldering with the soldering coppers abutted to the groove for the soldering coppers.
