PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid-state ion generator capable of stably and uniformly electrifying a photoreceptor and to obtain an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: An ion generator 202 is arranged in the longitudinal direction of a photoreceptor 101 where an electrostatic latent image is formed so as to uniformly electrify the surface of the photoreceptor 101 with a prescribed potential.
