PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a substance in blood to be measured, rapidly and simply with high sensitivity. SOLUTION: According to this method for measuring the measuring substance existing in a blood specimen, a combination body of the object substance with a labeled body specifically combining with the substance is formed in the specimen. According to this method for measuring the substance, absorption of light of 595 to 1,000 nm or fluorescence of 595 to 1,000 nm excited by excitation light of 595 to 1,000 nm is detected without taking out the combination body or unreacted portions of the labeled body from the specimen.
