PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a wood structure earthquake-resistant and reinforced by attaching even to such a narrow part as a section where braces of joints of columns and beams cross each other. SOLUTION: A joint metal for a wood construction is composed of: metal fittings 4,10 to be fixed to at least two wooden members 1, 2 respectively; a U-shaped leaf spring 16 which engage shafts 9, 15 of each metal fittings to urge the two metal fitting to be drawn to each other; a wedge piece 19 placed within the U-shaped section and pressed by a compression coil spring 26; and a wedge engaging plate 31, 37 with square-shaped openings 35, 41 between the two shafts. In accordance with the distance between the two shafts becoming shortened associated with the wooden part shrinking, the wedge piece engaging into the square openings forms a rigid body between the two shafts.
