PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a peppermint repellant for an animal, for further details, a repellent for the animal such as a dog or a cat, comprising a pulverized material of plant peppermint and a fragrant ingredient such as peppermint oil formulated therein, and to provide a method for repelling the animal using the repellent for the animal. SOLUTION: The pulverized material of the plant peppermint is provided. The method for repelling the animal comprises spraying the pulverized material of the plant peppermint and suitably giving physical irritation. One or two or more kinds of perfume ingredients selected from the group consisting of l-menthol, peppermint oil, anethole, cineole and benzaldehyde are formulated in inorganic powder. Furthermore, a zinc salt, immortelle absolute, baked powder of shells or camphor may be formulated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
