PURPOSE: A call mode changing method is provided to immediately execute a call mode modification between a voice communication and a picture communication by allocating a channel if a call mode modification is available and modifying to a requested corresponding call mode. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether a mobile communication terminal requests a call mode modification. If a speech path transfer has been requested, it is determined whether there is a channel that can be allocated. If a channel can be allocated, the channel is allocated, a radio bearer capability of the channel is set, and a call mode modification success message is transmitted to a mobile communication terminal. A picture communication transfer request message is transmitted to a different mobile communication terminal, a response message from the different mobile communication terminal is checked to determined whether a call mode modification is available. If the call mode modification is available, it is checked whether there is a channel that can be allocated. If a channel can be allocated, the corresponding channel is allocated and a radio bearer capability of the channel is set. When channel allocation to the different mobile communication terminal is finished, a picture communication path is connected between the two mobile communication terminals. |
