Method for generating an inheritable integration of DNA into the genome of germ-line and somatic cells of an invertebrate, where the integration contains homologous or heterologous DNA sequences and/or genes. Method for generating an inheritable integration of DNA into the genome of germ-line and somatic cells of an invertebrate, where the integration contains homologous or heterologous DNA sequences and/or genes. The new feature is that a post-transformational modification process is applied so that those DNA sequences of the integration that contain defined target sites for transposases and recombinases, and are derived originally from the transformation vector, are physically removed from the genome. An Independent claim is also included for genetically modified invertebrates produced by the new method.
