A valve for controlling a fluid stream, especially a gas stream, comprises a housing containing a pipe section with a longitudinal bore that contains an axially movable control piston. The latter has a radial bore for transporting fluid, and a surrounding fluid chamber, as well as a valve seat and closure. The valve closure consists of a rotating section with a guide that works in conjunction with the longitudinal bore wall.
