Ceramic construction element for arranging in a construction, preferably a building or a fixed support construction, comprises a one- or multipart ceramic body (1) and at least one pre-stressed tension element (2) reaching through or along the ceramic body. Pre-stressed abutments (3) arranged on opposite ends of the pre-stressed tension element are supported in the region of the opposite-lying ends of the ceramic body under pre-stressing of the ceramic body. Preferred Features: The pre-stressed tension element is a rigid element with a preferably full cross-section, e.g. a rod, especially a round rod, e.g. made of metal, or an elastic element with a preferably full cross-section, e.g. a rod, especially a plastic rod or is made of glass fiber, fiber material or a fiber composite.
