A false floor comprising a number of panels (40, fig 7) is raised on pedestals 10 and a frame defined by beams 20. A storage box 30 is suspended below each panel (40) on the frame by interlocking lips 23 around its perimeter. A plurality of storage boxes 30 may fill the entire sub-floor area. Cushioning (not shown) is provided in-between the beams, the pedestals and the floor panels to deaden noise. The floor panel (40) may comprise borosilicate or stone and be covered by imitation wood veneer or real wood board respectively. Each pedestal 10 is preferably height adjustable comprising a screw 11, nut 12 and disk 13 (fig 3) upon which the beams 20 can be mounted by screw 22. The storage 30 preferably does not interfere with sub-floor pipes and cables (fig 4). |
