The sealing ring is designed as a circular shape with a rigid inner segment (12) and a flexible outer segment (11) with its lower edge protruding from the ring. The ring has a cross section of an upturned V. The upper edge of the sealing ring is provided with a rounded extension (13) protruding less far from the unit than the lower edge. A circular recess (15) is located between the edge and the main ring. When a vacuum is created in the pressure chamber the area is still sealed with only little friction occurring between the inner surface of the cylinder and the device when the piston is moved.
