Connecting rod fitting for a leaf of a two-leafed mullion-free window or door comprises a connecting rod drive (5) consisting of a pivoting operating lever (7), a guide rod (12) connected to the operating lever and to a lock rail (9), and at least one adjustable coupling pin (10) guided in a slot in the lock rail. The coupling pin in a first center-fixed assembly position of the rotating position of the connecting rod fitting and thus of the connecting rod drive is located in a non-engagement position with the carrier connection (14) of the connecting rod (6) of the connecting rod drive. The operating lever in the closed position is aligned in a position congruous with the lock rail. When operated via the operating lever, the coupling pin is coupled in the rotating position with the carrier connection of the connecting rod. An Independent claim is also included for a process for automatic or semi-automatic assembly of the above connecting rod fitting.
