The process involves transmitting power from the engine to a propeller through a rigid transmission shaft and having a device (6) for coupling the engine shaft, that is adapted by mechanical means for the operating speed range of the engine, so that any vibrations and harmonics in the engine, drive shaft (8) and propeller assembly are generated outside the normal operating range of the engine. Independent claims are included for: (i) a transmission shaft for transmitting engine power to a propeller; and (ii) application of the above process for: aircraft, helicopters and marine or agricultural engines.
