The dryer device has a rotary driven drum (11) with a cylindrical sheet casing (23) and circular running rings (13) supporting the drum on running wheels and driven by at least one running wheel. The running wheels are joined by struts (25) so that the rings and the struts form a stable drum cage (22). The struts are preferably fixed to the rings and./or are profiled in section.
