A photoactivated/curing adhesive is applied to one of two bipolar plates and then irradiated over a preset time span. The two bipolar plates are arranged in a desired position ready to be joined and the they are joined by applying pressure and/or heat. One of the bipolar plates is preheated before being arranged in the desired joining position.
