<p>Portable golf aiming aid 1 comprises elongate body 2 which defines guide path 10, and securing means for fixing aid 1 with respect to substrate 42. The securing means may comprise at least one protrusion which extends from body 2 and penetrates the substrate, e.g. ground engaging spike 4. Body 2 may be rigid, and may comprise first and second walls 6, 8 which extend along the body and intersect one another, with guide path 10 being defined by one of the walls or by the intersecting ridge of the walls. A golf tee engaging region 12 may be provided on the body, e.g. recess 14. Recess 14 may include an annular lip (16, fig. 2) against which the shoulder (34, fig. 4) of golf tee 28 may abut. Recess 14 may be offset from the central axis of the aiming device such that, when viewed by a golfer preparing to make a swing, guide path 10 will appear to pass through the centre of golf ball 40. Recess 14 may open onto the side of the aiming aid such that tees having different heights may be accommodated, with longer tees being offset to a greater extent than short tees (not shown).</p> |
