A filter for a digital signal comprising many sequential scanned values comprises a sequence of memory devices (102), readout units (112) with filter coefficients and bit breadth regions, multiplication devices (114), adding devices (116) and a summing device (122) to give a scanned value of the filtered digital signal. An Independent claim is also included for a filtering process for the above.
