PURPOSE: A method is provided to shorten the search time by reducing the frequencies of comparisons in a digit pattern search by interconnecting same elements in digit groups. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step(S51) of permitting a media gateway to receive digit groups from a media gateway controller; a step(S52) of creating a data structure by interconnecting same elements in digit groups; a step(S53) of taking, as an input, subscriber digits, and comparing the subscriber digits with the elements of digit groups; a step(S54) of deleting, from the data structure, the index excluding the index where the elements matched to the subscriber digits belong; a step(S55) of checking whether any index remains in the data structure; a step(S56) of checking whether subscriber digits are all inputted; a step(S57) of transmitting the total subscriber digit and a full match data to the media gateway controller; and a step(S58) of transmitting the inputted subscriber digits and no-match data to the media gateway controller.
