PURPOSE: An H-beam of a deformed flange having upper and lower flanges with different thickness or width is provided to improve section performance by maximizing the structural merits of a composite beam by making the thickness or width of the upper and lower flanges different. CONSTITUTION: In a composite beam for resisting a concrete slab against the compressive force by connecting the concrete slab and a steel beam with a shear connector, an H-beam of a deformed flange having upper and lower flanges(8,9) with different thickness or width moves down a neutral axis lower than the section of the steel and accordingly increases the section modulus of the tension side and area moment of inertia by the composite section at 10¯15% by reducing the thickness of the upper flange and increasing the thickness or width of the lower flange under the same amount of steels.
