PURPOSE: An idle handoff method is provided to reduce the count of idle handoff by adjusting the threshold of idle handoff in consideration of a neighbor list and search window size. CONSTITUTION: An idle handoff method comprises a step(S10) of receiving a neighbor list and a search window size; a step(S20,S30) of comparing the preset reference value and the search window size; a step(S50) of applying the existing idle handoff threshold if the reference value is smaller than the search window size; and a step(S60) of applying a weight value to the existing idle handoff threshold if the reference value is larger than the search window size.
