摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a specified component of a rice plant accurately by sorting the rice into a plurality of groups depending on the environmental elements having an effect on the growth thereof and setting an expression for estimating the quantity of component for each group in a method for determining a specified component according to a predetermined expression for estimating the quantity of component after measuring the near infrared absorbance of a rice leaf. SOLUTION: An apparatus for measuring a specified component, e.g. nitrogen, of a rice plant comprises an optical measuring section 1, an input circuit, an operation control circuit and a memory circuit. A leaf 2 of rice to be measured is clamed by leaf holding means 7A, 7B and the absorbance is measured at each wavelength by a specified method. Environmental elements, e.g. the days required for a specified growth period of the rice and the average or integrated temperature during that period, are inputted to an input circuit prior to measurement. A plurality of expressions for estimating the quantity of component corresponding to the groups of environmental elements are stored in a memory circuit and selected by the input values at the time of operation. An operation control circuit calculates the quantity of a component, e.g. nitrogen, from the measurements of absorbance for respective wavelengths according to a selected expression for estimation.</p>
