PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the layer thickness of developer in an image forming area where a developer carrier is faced to a developer layer thickness regulation member constant and to prevent the developer from flowing and splashing to the outside of a developing device from the image forming area by forming the developer layer thickness regulation member of a magnetic material and a non-magnetic material. SOLUTION: The layer thickness regulation member 144 is formed by using the magnetic member 144A in the area thereof almost identical to the image forming area and press-fitting the non-magnetic member 144B in the projection parts of both ends of the magnetic member 144A. When the surface of a joined part is ground after press-fitting the member 144B, the ruggedness of the joined part is eliminated. As the magnetic member, magnetic stainless steel SUS 430 is preferable. As the non-magnetic member, aluminum alloy, copper alloy and the like are given but specially non-magnetic stainless steel SUS 304 is preferable. Thus, the developer is hardly attached to the area where the non-magnetic material is used and it is prevented from being leaked sideways. |
