The proposed tubular electric heater contains a tubular metallic casing and a resistive heating element with an insulating cover, which is installed in the casing. As the heating element, a film of resistive material is used, the width of which increases in the direction from the initial terminal to the end terminal of the heating element. The initial and the end terminals of the heating element are accordingly connected to the neutral conductor and the phase conductor of the mains. The proposed design of the heating element provides a possibility to enhance the serviceability of the heater due to a possibility to increase the specific resistance of the insulating cover of the heating element. The use of the film heating element allows the overall dimensions of the heater to be reduced due to improved conditions for cooling the heating element.
