The device is for the fixture of electrical switches and plugs or combinations of them on a base and comprises a housing (1) with a baseplate (12) and a cover (13). The baseplate is screwed to a building wall or to another base surface. The basic body (3) of the electrical switch or the plug is provided with a stirrup (2). In the fitted state, it is positively engaged with the baseplate and the housing cover. For securing, the stirrup laterally has holding nose formations (27,27'), which locate on the baseplate on cross ribs (15,15'). The stirrup is secured against springing together by screws (24,24') which insert through the cover.
