A composition suitable for application to the skin containing an aqueous phase, a fatty phase and a dispersion of particles of a polymer producing at a 7% concentration in water a retraction of isolated stratum corneum of more than 1.5% at 30 degrees Celsius and 40% relative humidity which also includes an amphiphilic ionic polymer.
