PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially producing N-aminopiperidine (NAP) represented by formula (I). SOLUTION: This method for producing the N-aminopiperidine is characterized by reacting 1-piperidine carboxamide (PCA) represented by formula (II) with chlorine in the presence of a weak base and then reacting the reaction product with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.
