PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel optical compensation sheet which increases an angle of inclination of liquid crystalline molecules and has an excellent optical compensation function, more particularly an optical compensation sheet which contributes to an improvement in the angle of view of liquid crystal display devices of a TN (twisted nematic) mode or OCB (optically compensatory bend) mode, etc., and a fluorine-containing compound which is free from cissing during formation of coating films and can form the uniform films. SOLUTION: The fluorine-contained compound has the optical compensation sheet formed by incorporating a compound having a substituent of a specific structure in an aromatic ring into the optical compensation sheet having an optically anisotropic layer on a support and a sulfonic acid group or its salt and a perfluoroalkyl group-containing substituent in a benzene ring.
