A mixture containing:(a) an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer of vinyl acetate content 80-97 wt.%, (b) a nitrile group containing diene rubber, and (c) fillers and additives is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for preparation of the mixture by mixing components (a) to (c); (2) a vulcanizate obtainable by vulcanization of the mixture; (3) a ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer of vinyl acetate content 90-93 wt.%; (4) a process for preparation of the ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer in solution in the presence of a radical initiator at a pressure of 5-500 bar.
