PURPOSE: An automatic shift lever for preventing wrong operations is provided to prevent wrong operations of the shift lever caused by a driver by converting from a drive mode to a manual mode only with an additional operation of the driver by changing a mechanism for converting between manual and drive modes. CONSTITUTION: An automatic shift lever for preventing wrong operations is composed of a second lever(5) connected to the upside of a first lever(1) by a hinge(3); a slider(7) installed to perturb in the longitudinal direction of the second lever; a perturbing cylinder(9) arranged to the second lever to perturb the slider; a perturbing device for perturbing the slider downward the longitudinal direction of the second lever; a stopper(11) for limiting the stroke of the slider moving upward the longitudinal direction of the second lever; a manual detent groove(13) formed to the second lever near the perturbing cylinder; a roller(15) for selectively converting states for inserting the roller into the perturbing cylinder and elastically holding the lower part of the slider and for elastically holding the manual detent groove; and a roller spring(17) disposed to the second lever to elastically hold the roller.
