When inputting characters in a conventional cellular telephone, the characters are input by using only a thumb of one hand and the input speed is slow. The present invention provides a cellular telephone having one joystick, two shift keys, and 26 keys on both sides of the cellular telephone, so that the cellular telephone is grasped by both hands and operated by ten fingers. Without switching the shift key, each of the 26 alphabetical characters can be input by one pressing operation. Furthermore, characters can be input by blind touch. Thus, it is possible to input characters at a very high speed. This opens an innovative field as communication means of the cellular telephone and significantly improves the user-friendliness.
