Safety system for tunnel with a modular assembly separating wall with vertically dropping panels between two carriageways and with side escape paths

A safety system for a tunnel, especially a road tunnel with opposing carriageways has a vertical support structure (6) separating the carriageways and with fireproof panels which drop and seal off the carriageways in the event of fire. The top of the central frame branches into two curving ceilings (7) which run tangentially into the tunnel profile. The sides of the tunnel are further fitted with modular walls to form protected escape paths (4). In normal use the central panels are raised to present a less claustrophobic appearance, and are rapidly dropping by the fire safety controls.
