<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, etc. for performing gradation conversion wherein flatness of pixel value histogram of a converted image is preferable by using a specific gradation conversion function. <P>SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus, etc., a gradation conversion function expressed by using a variable for specifying gradation conversion characteristics is used, a value of the variable is determined based on flatness of the pixel value histogram of an image obtained by converting an object image by the gradation conversion function, and the object image is subjected to gradation conversion by a gradation conversion function determined by the determined variable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
