PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter head capable of smoothly progressively excavating by cutting the whole of an obstacle in front of the cutter head and discharging chips backward at the same time. SOLUTION: One rotary drum 5 is arranged on a diameter line passing through the center of rotation of the cutter head 3, and both ends of the rotary drum are supported by the periphery frame of the cutter head 3 freely to rotate, and both the ends are driven for rotation by motors 8 and 8. The rotary drum 5 is provided with a line of ground excavating bits 6 and several lines of obstacle cutting bits 7 each having a projection length larger than the ground excavating bit 6 over the whole length of the rotary drum including a center in the longitudinal direction. When excavating an obstacle, the obstacle cutting bits 7 cut the obstacle, while rotating the rotary drum 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
